The Da Vinci Code- What is it?

Introduction: Who even is Leonardo Da Vinci? 

Leonardo Da Vinci was a famous “renaissance man”, painter, architect, inventor, sculptor, engineer, writer, and mathematician in the mid 1400’s. At the age of 15, Da Vinci was already a great artist, working as an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio. His most famous paintings are the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. It is believed that Leonardo was part of a Secret Society known as the Priory of Sion and hid secret symbols and letters into the Mona Lisa.

 

The Davinci Code is a novel written by Dan Brown that follows a symbologist and cryptologist who become involved in a “battle between the Priory of Sion and Opus Deiover”. It explores an alternative religous history including a belief that Jesus and Mary Magdalene actually were married; the book also refers to The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail (1982) though Dan Brown has stated that it was not used as research material” (http://ahnen.greyfalcon.us/treasure3.htm). This novel also relates to Secret Societies such as the Illuminati and Freemasons.

History vs The Da Vinci Code

Famous historical figures such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Issac Newton, and Victor Hugo are believed to be part of the Secret Society, the Priory of Sion. But according to Got Questions Ministries, As with most of what is contained in The Da Vinci Code, there is very little, if any, evidence that would support these conclusions about the Priory of Sion. The Priory of Sion was founded in 1956, not 1099. The supposed ledgers of members of the Priory of Sion are considered to be fraudulent by most respected historians and scholars. The Da Vinci Code takes the Priory of Sion, attaches unfounded conspiracy theories about its origins and purposes, and uses it as evidence of a vast cover-up of Jesus’ marriage to Mary Magdalene” (What is the Priory of Sion?) In oppositon of that statement, it is believed that the Priory of Sion was in fact founded in 1099, but was not known of by the public until 1967. It is difficult to distinguish which information is factual, and which is fictional when investigating the Priory of Sion because “the supposed history and significance of the Priory varies widely from writer to writer” (History vs The Da Vinci Code).

Who are the Illuminati?

Background:

There are many myths and stories about the Secret Organization, the Illuminati. Some people say that the Illuminati can be traced “back thousands of years to their conception as a result of the genetic inbreeding between a reptilian extraterrestrial race and humanity” (History of the Illuminati). Adam Weishaupt is the founder of this Secret Society, but ‘”called [it] the Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria” back then (Order of the Illumined Wise Men).

The term “Illuminati” means “enlightened one” (What Exactly Does”Illuminati” mean?) Illuminati is partly considered a religion because its core origins consisted of Masonic secrets, Islamic Mysticism, and Jesuit mental discipline. Hashish  is a popular drug used by people who take part in this Hidden Organization. It “is a potent form of cannabis (marijuana) produced by collecting and compressing trichomes, the most potent material from cannabis plants” (Drugs.com).

Illuminati in Social Media

Hundred of symbols and hand gestures in today’s society are related to Illuminati both seriously, and humorously.  The main symbol that represent this religion is the ‘all seeing eye’ within the triangle or pyramid” (The Illuminati). Coincidentally, this same exact symbol is on U.S. dollar bills. Also, many celebrities or higher officials have been using certain hand gestures that people are comparing to signs of Illuminati. Some people believe “that the media is controlled by the A.I.S.E. to help guide popular opinion” (The Illuminati). Many movies have been interrogated because people accused the creators of using veiled illusions corresponding to  the Illuminati. For example, ” Dan Browns’s Angels and Demons, [which] openly deals with what might be called the ‘traditional’  depiction of the Illuminati. Other films such as Tomb Raider and Conspiracy Theory have features Illuminati like organizations in various plot scenarios of mass population control” (The Illuminati). Pope Francis–Pope of the Catholic Church– has been accused of being part of Secret Societies because there are many pictures of him where he is doing hand gestures of “Satan”. Additionally, celebrities such as Beyonce, and Enimem are accused of conspiring the the Illuminati. Pictures of all these hand gestures and symbols can be seen below.

Is it actually possible that Secret Societies could be in control of government, people, and money?

Throughout history, there has been growing suspicions of secret societies having a huge influence on money, people, and the government. Indeed, there is a lot of evidence to support that secret organizations are real and active today, but no evidence to suggest they are in control of our daily lives. Information is leaked from the government all the time, but the released data has never related to hidden societies. Most influential people today set themselves out there and publicly show their power. Therefore, it is not likely that secret societies are in control of government, money, or people.

Furthermore, influential people– such as government officials, or wealthy people– have ¨a lot of power, but their influence isn’t a secret at all¨ (Is There a Secret Society Controlling the World?). For example, the current president of the United States–Barrack Obama– openly displays his influence on the people, government, and money. If secret societies were in control, their influence would have either been revealed, or made known by now. Convincingly, the most powerful people boldly proclaim their influence. 

Secondly, people want to make up conspiracies about how the world is controlled by hidden organizations, but have no evidence to support it. Evidence is so important because it ¨can be used to establish guilt or innocence of a crime or accusation. It is a body of information that tells us whether someone had a motive, opportunity, the ability to commit a crime¨ (Why is Evidence So Important). Clearly, it is impossible to prove a point or idea, with no facts to support it. In an article written by Harrisburg DUI attorney, Justin J. McShane, he says ¨We can use physical evidence to narrow down the universe of possibilities¨ (The Truth About Forensic Science RSS). Facts and information are necessary to help indicate whether a belief is true or valid. With this in mind, it cannot be proved that Secret Societies have dominance over our country.

Opposing views claim that ¨there is indeed plenty of evidence to show that in the 14th century the Masons were already a well-established group, and accepted, or were evolved by, the inclusion of the Knights Templar that had escaped Catholic suppression to Scotland.¨, but also claim that ¨there can be no strict proof for any of this, although the ‘secret knowledge‘ has been passed down the centuries from one adept and initiate to another¨ (The Illuminati). Conversely, the author of this article stated that there is evidence to support the fact that Secret Societies exist, and also stated that there is no evidence to support the fact that secret societies exist. Therefore, the article and author is unreliable and hypocritical. Furthermore proving that the theories of Secret Societies controlling the world, cannot be proven.

In conclusion, there is no evidence that can demonstrate the proof or existence of Secret Societies controlling money, government, and people. Be that as it may, there is documents and proof of Hidden Societies existing. Needless to say, these Secret Organizations are not in control of the world.

Freemasons- Who are they, and what is their purpose?

Origins: The official birth of Freemasonry began in the early 1700’s.  Origins of the Freemasons trace back to “the history of organized occultism” (Gary H. Kah).  Unfortunately, researchers have never actually been able to figure out exactly how Freemasonry began: “The order is thought to have arisen from the English and Scottish guilds of practicing stonemasons and cathedral builders in the Middle Ages, but certain Masonic documents actually trace the sciences of geometry and masonry to the time of ancient Egypt, and some historians say that Masonry has its real roots in antiquity” (http://www.masonforum.com).

Some people believe that this society began even early than the 1700’s: “Masonry existed as it now exists, the same in spirit and at heart . . . before even the first colonies emigrated into Southern India, Persia, and Egypt, from the cradle of the human race” (Morals and Dogma, p.207-208). It is highly possible that Freemasonry existed that long ago, but went by a different name.

What is Freemasonry? Freemasonry is seen as a secret society, which consists of only male members. On the other hand, Masons are considered several different things. Some portray them as an secret organization, but others view their beliefs as a religion. In addition, “…if you were to ask a Mason, he would offer the following definition: Masonry is a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols” (Brown 31). In my opinion, Freemasons can be considered all of the above. Parts of Masonry act as a religion, while other parts just classify as an organization, or society. Others view it as a way of life.

What are Secret Societies?

Secret societies are organizations that secrete their rules, activities, the names of their members, signs, and motives a secret from the rest of the world. Every member in a secret society takes an oath of secrecy, and gets severely punished if they violate their oath (New Advent). According to Time magazine, secret societies are in control of the world. Several members of the White house, such as  President Bush, and John Kerry,  both were part of of the Skull and Bones clan (democracynow.org). It’s believed that, “We are actually ruled by secret societies such as Freemasons, Illuminati, Skull and bones, Brotherhood,…etc” (Ghinwa Karkouti). About 99% of earth’s leaders belong to secret societies (Ghinwa Karkouti). Symbols of the secret societies that control us are seen everywhere!

For example, this pope– who is a highly respected religous leader– is making the sign of the devil in his right hand. This hand gesture is interpreted as the symbol for the horned god (http://secretofsocieties.weebly.com).

In conclusion, secret socieites are organizations that control goverment, money, media, and politics.
